Oktopus Contracts Ltd have a new found focus on endeavouring to be a company that recognises its environmental impact and what action is required to minimise this impact. All this whilst still meeting the requirements of recent changes to legislation. These changes have resulted in Oktopus Contracts Ltd being more cautious in regards to the crane chosen and an increased focus more on the technical specification to utilise the correct crane. An example of this environmental awareness is the gross vehicle weight of the Klaas TC28 Trailer Crane which at only 3.5 te greatly reduces the cranes impact on the transport infrastructure of the U.K. Another way of Oktopus Contracts Ltd being environmentally aware are elements such as the lower amount of carbon emissions that are released into the atmosphere by the smaller engine on the Klaas TC28 trailer crane. Also the type of engines that Oktopus Contracts Ltd cranes have available is mainly diesel engines but these cranes are also available with an LPG gas and 3 phase electrical system option. Below you can find a brief table of comparison between the commonly used Terex Demag AC 30 city crane and the Klaas TC28 Trailer crane of which Oktopus utilize. What the table below will illustrate is the differences in specification and the environmental impact that this realises. From the content provided it clearly shows that the Klaas TC28 Trailer crane has a much reduced environmental impact whilst still achieving the same lifting envelope.
